THE COLLAPSE OF A NATION . . . AND THE WAY TO STOP IT.
It is happening, before our very eyes, it is happening. We are losing our nation. The America that provided us hope, optimism, opportunity, and trust, the nation that got a man on the moon, invented the telephone, the airplane, the internet, that nation is on its death bed. Mike Campbell, a Hemingway character in The Sun Also Rises was asked how he went bankrupt? He answered, “Two ways. Gradually and then suddenly.” I’ve misquoted this line for about three decades. I thought it was “gradually and then rapidly.” I don’t want to compete with Hemingway, but I’m of the opinion rapidly is the better word. I’d love to get a time machine and go debate the issue with Hemingway. I’d love it more if F. Scott was there. F. Scott might agree with me, might even find the balls to tell Papa off if he and I unified in our support for the literary change. No matter, pick one, suddenly or rapidly, they both work and both are a truth of financial failure. It proceeds gradually and then it proceeds rapidly, or suddenly, almost every time. We are on the verge of entering the rapidly or suddenly phase in the bankruptcy of our nation. Financially, we are in a bad way. It is not outside the realm of math to proffer that our debt load has put us in a death spiral.
However, there is that, but there is more. This isn’t really about finances. Finances are just numbers and numbers don’t lie. They can’t be racist either, no matter how many progressive Marxists scoundrels say math is racist. Two plus two is four, not five and we can cut spending, raise taxes, shut down agencies, earn and budget our way out of the financial death spiral. Unless we can’t. The true malignant death spiral that will prevent us from saving ourselves is not one of finances, it is one of character. It is one of faith, morality, principles, integrity and honesty. We are suffering a virus that is destroying our principles, our faith, and our national soul. The Democrat party actually said they were seeking to wing the soul of America. They lied. It is both parties seeking to steal our souls, or at least, corrupt them beyond repair.
The truth is that we are losing our sense of what it means to be an American. Of course, we are. We are being told that being independent, personally responsible, moral, honest, hard-working, even timely, all of the great American traits, is wrong, racist, even too white.[1] The party in power is intent on destroying the nation that we knew. Now, you might be thinking that I’m speaking of the Democrat party and I am, but not exclusively. It’s bigger than the Democrat party. It’s most of the Republican party, too. Our leaders, those elected to lead and those appointed or hired into the bureaucratic state (the fourth branch of government) are intent on destroying the U.S.A. Our leaders simply don’t care about the population of this country. They live in a bubble of power, addicted to their status, terrified at the thought of losing it. And their bubble has been infected by evil. To deal with the evil infestation, they join in a vile circle jerk of fraudulent affirmation, everyone in it trading useless and false rationalizations, bolstered by the false and manufactured belief that they are the smartest, most principled, most honorable and bravest people on the planet. Don’t believe it? Get into the circle and see if they don’t tell you so. Or, just listen to them speak. Hear their arrogance, their indifference and their vacancy. To them, we are nothing more than livestock, something to be managed. And right now, we are beef cattle being lulled (herded might be a better word) into the corral in wait for the semi with the livestock trailer to show up to take us to the slaughter house.
So far, a pretty negative piece, right? For sure. Too bad. I’m not done with the negativity yet, I need to convince the readers that the situation is dire and dire situations require extraordinary actions to thwart them. So, stay with me and rest assured, I’ll end on a positive note. There is still hope.
Back to the negative. Our budget is shot. Our standing in the world is free falling. We are being ruled by government and corporations with uncertainty as to which is our primary ruler. Free speech, gun rights, even the right to think, all of them are under attack. And if we object? Well, just ask Donald Trump about that. Let us be objective about things for a bit. Can anybody honestly reconcile the treatment of Donald Trump with the treatment of the Biden family and the Clinton Family? No way. I’m all in on the concept that if you commit a crime, you pay the price, no matter who you are. But, what I’m not all in on is a disparate system of justice. When that becomes the norm, violence and revolution are next. I mean, if you can’t go to the courts and law for justice, you go to the guns. It’s the whole point of the Second Amendment.
And if you think it will never happen here, a revolution on the one hand, a genocide on the other, read your history. In the 1930’s Germany was the shining star of academia, innovation, creativity and intelligence. And yet, those people, those highly educated, culturally brilliant people, those people danced with Adolph Hitler and put six million people to death. It can happen here, although there is one problem. It’s a good problem, firearms. There are a lot of gun owners and gun owners tend to love the America of old. They know history, too, or at least the principles of history. Basically, gun owners understand that if they take your guns, they will take everything else. So, they will fight. Will they win? Who knows, but probably. I’ll take a blue-collar pick-up driving dude with an attitude over an Ivy leaguer in any fight that involves a modicum of physicality and principal any day of the week. In fact, I’ll take a blue-collar guy (or girl) over an Ivy Leaguer if I need help in most anything.
The point of this degression is to express the seriousness of our time. We are in trouble. We have screwed up – big time. We have tolerated that which is antithetical to what we love for too long. We have tolerated that which wants to destroy us, take away what we love, ruin us and then kill us, for too long. We have arrogantly and lazily assumed that our nation will always survive. We have abandoned our faith, perverted our American Dream as one of property and not principles. We have retarded our strategy from long term planning to short term gratification. We have become shallow, cowardly, indifferent, fearful, weak and ignorant. And to the extent we haven’t, we have manifested a world record case of denial.
But, (now comes the positive), a big but, with one t not two, get Hillary’s behind out of your mind, Chis Christie’s too, we are not without hope, yet. It is within our providence to save ourselves, to save our nation, which is the same thing. That’s the beauty of Americanism. Sure, we herald our triumphs and credit them to the U.S.A. but the reality is, and we all know this, when we herald the triumphs of our nation, we are really heralding the triumphs of our people, of individual Americans. Our nation’s history of success is a summary of the success of individuals. Our nation has never accomplished a thing. Americans, soaked through with Americanism, did it all. And I mean it all.
And here we are. I’m sure to some folks, I’m writing hate speech. And certainly, it is racist to be trumpeting Americanism. I mean, can’t everything we have be traced back to the labor of slaves? Isn’t the U.S. Constitution nothing more than a façade, covering up a disgusting patriarchal racist nation? Is there anything good about this nation? Too many folks would answer this question, “no.”
They would be wrong.
You see, our founding fathers did not create the Constitution and the Bill of rights. They said as much when they wrote, “God given rights.” They are giving credit where credit is due. And they didn’t’ give due to a single human being or a single government entity They gave it to God, an ultimate acknowledgement. They archived which was always so, that which was ultimately true. They put to writing a list of rights and principles that are inalienable. That means that no government can take the away the rights given to us by God, free will basically. Yes, they can take the ability to exercise the right away, but the right never dies. And Americans know this. We Americans are not all that different despite the cabal’s attempt to get us to hate each other. I could walk down the street with the most leftist lefty and see a homeless person on the street and we would both have compassion. We would both be thinking, “this isn’t right.” I could go to a waterfront bar with that same lefty and see a guy on a thirty-foot Sea Ray pressure washing it and be told he is on disability and we would both have contempt. Neither one of us would be in favor of war. Neither one of us would be in favor of corporations and money being incestuously engaged with government in order to profit. Neither one of us would be in favor of sub-standard education for anyone. Neither on of us would be in favor of someone in need of health care being out of luck. Neither one of us would be in favor of throwing a homo-sexual off a building or of an employer discriminating against a homosexual who was kick-ass at what he or she did. Neither one of us would be in favor of propaganda or a two tiered justice system or tax rates that punish success or economic plans that leach away the middle class. You see, we would have a lot in common.
This is what we need to focus on, our commonality. We need to look in, into ourselves and ask, what do we believe? Are we that different? Is this contentious debate, with all the indications that it is matriculating into a debate for which contentious would be too mild a word, a real debate? Are we being manipulated into ignoring the virtues of Americanism in order to defeat the possibility of resolution? Are we being played. We are. We need to reject it. We need to unite in our common values and principles, our common Americanism. Some of us need to accept that we were too right. (meaning we burned too many bridges) and some of us need to accept that we are too left, (meaning we tried to build too many bridges). We need to be introspectively objective and accept the obvious, we have been played. We are not enemies. We love a lot of the same things, the same principles. Because we do. It is imperative that we do so, for the life of our nation. If we fail, God help us, literally.
For the record, I am not perfect. Not a surprise if you know me. I’ve used the word hate more than I’d like to. I have burned bridges based on political views. We kicked all the liberals out of our deer camp based upon our inability to allow someone to walk around our acreage with a rifle that would be banned if their chosen leaders had their way. And yet, when I meet a person, even the people I kicked out of deer camp, regardless of their political passion, I am inclined to like them. Why? Because deep down, despite our protestations, there is a huge probability we have the same values – and if we talked, if we shared, if we were honest, we’d reveal this truth rapidly – or suddenly, you pick. The point herein is that we are getting played. Let’s stop it. Let’s reject our leaders who are not leaders but herders. Let us accept the fact that the drunken crew in 1776 really did tap into inalienable rights, the principles of an individual’s character, no matter how much one denies it, that cannot be discarded or deported. It is who we are and we cannot change it and that makes us similar. It provides a basis for understanding, cooperation, acceptance, and triumph. No wonder Washington D.C. and the globalists want us to believe that it’s stupid, out dated and immoral. Our leaders, to speak technically, don’t have the balls to live by it. We the People do.
