THE BAD DUDE IS NOT CORN POP, IT’S JOE!
For the record, “Corn Pop,” is a character from a Joe Biden story regarding a confrontation with an African American at a swimming pool where Old (young) Joe was a lifeguard. Allegedly, Corn Pop, the African American, was a member of a gang called the Romans. Joe threw Corn Pop out of the pool. Corn Pop confronted Joe in the parking lot, and, leave it to Joe, Joe held his ground and turned the confrontation into a friendship and from then on, the Roman Gang protected young Joe. Whether it’s true or not, who knows? Consider the source, right?
So, I’ve just finished reading The Lap Top From Hell, by Miranda Devine. By the way, Amanda Devine is definitely not a Republican . . . but she is a journalist, an honest one. Her book is an inciteful read, I mean an insightful read, . . . wait, it’s both inciteful and insightful (look them up) requiring a worthy amount of fortitude in order to digest the magnitude of dysfunction in the Biden Family. Prior to reading the book, I had contempt for Hunter Biden, viewing him as a rich, spoiled, corrupt and narcissistic jerk. I have not changed my opinion except for one thing, I no longer have contempt for Hunter Biden. I have sympathy. And my contempt for Joe Biden has grown, no longer buoyed by his politics alone, but by his character.
There can be no doubt that Joe Biden was fully aware and participatory in Hunter Biden’s influence pedaling around the world. There can be no doubt that contrary to Joe’s claims that he does not get involved in Hunter’s business dealings, he in fact does get involved. There are photographs, calendars, emails and letters which directly support the counter-proposition that Joe Biden was critical to all the deals being closed. He had to be, because Joe Biden is the product that Hunter sells. Without Joe Biden, there are no business deals for Hunter to pursue. Over and over again quid pro occurs with high paying jobs, some of them no-show jobs, board positions, and deals being provided to Hunter while at the same time legislative favors or political positions are being granted to whoever is lavishing jobs, cash or status on Hunter. As just one example, Hunter was paid an undisclosed amount of money as a consultant by MBNA, the largest employer in Delaware, during the years the senator supported legislation that was promoted by the credit card industry and opposed by consumer groups. Obama’s Presidential campaign said Biden helped forge a bipartisan compromise on the measure, which is now law and makes it harder for consumers to obtain bankruptcy protection in the courts. Hunter Biden was put on the Amtrak Board and then resigned, but didn’t. Instead, he stayed intimate with the board, regularly emailing and communicating with them as he used his father’s influence and connections to steer work to at least two private contractors, getting paid a healthy consulting fee. There were China deals, Burisma Holdings Limited in the Ukraine, Russian deals and more. Not a single deal Hunter profited from would have been possible without having his father’s influence for sale. And believe me, Joe is for sale.
But, this is not the reason I have contempt for Joe Biden. For a while, I wondered why the criminality of the Biden Family was not legitimately investigated and prosecuted. Only for a while. My belief is that the Biden Family behavior is not unique to the Biden Family but is endemic amongst congressman and senators in Washington – and they’re smart enough not to throw stones in glass houses.
Here’s the reason I have contempt for Joe Biden and sympathy for Hunter, but some background first. Hunter was just a child when his mother and sister were killed in an automobile accident. Hunter and his brother Beau were in the accident but survived. There is a famous photograph of Joe Biden being sworn in as a Senator in 1973 at the bedside of Beau Biden. Beau died at the age of 46. Joe never misses an opportunity to exploit his losses for sympathy and an appearance of humanity, notwithstanding that immediately after the swearing in, he whisked off to D.C. and left his children to be raised by his mother, brother and sister-in– law. For years, Joe claimed the truck driver that collided with his wife’s car was drunk. He wasn’t, but that didn’t stop the story telling. Only when the family of the driver begged Joe to be honest did he stop claiming the truck driver was drunk. What a heinous lie to tell? So, anyway, Beau and Hunter are motherless and sort of fatherless because Joe was busy with work. And things were going okay. Now, for the record, Beau was a straight up guy, so much so, Hunter was always in his shadows, yearning for the attention his brother received. And he got it, sort of. Always willing to help out, to show his father how loving and appreciative he was (yearning), Joe saw a purpose in Hunter and put him to work – as a front man.
Hunter and his uncle, James Biden, began cashing in on the family name, well, more specifically on Joe Biden’s influence and legislative-political power. And they did it with the full consent and instruction of Joe. Things didn’t go so well, just Google it. Biden, Inc.: How “Middle Class” Joe’s family cashed in, Politico, Hiding the ball: Hunter Biden Complicates White House Corruption Push, Politico, Joe Biden’s brother James caught up in FBI investigation into Hospital Business, The Sun, Hunter Biden: What was he doing in China and Ukraine? BBC. Hunter Biden: Federal Criminal Investigation focuses on his Business dealings in China, CNN, are just a few of the hundreds of results that come up on Google when you search out their business dealings.
Anyway, back to the early family life. With Joe off to Washington, Joe’s sister Valerie Biden Owens, her husband Bruce Owens and Hunter’s grandmother, moved into the Biden home to raise Beau and Hunter. Hunter was incredibly close with this aunt and grandmother so when Joe became President and thanked Jill, his new wife for saving the family, with Val standing a few feet away going un-mentioned, Hunter sent off a scathing email accusing his dad of being thoughtless and cruel for his purposeful political ignorance. He chided his father on the meaning of love, that it was not just words, but actions.
Although most of the correspondence between Joe and Hunter is kind and appreciative, there is an undercurrent and sometimes a strong current of angst and contempt for his father’s lack of appreciation for Hunter’s work as a front-man. Hunter’s text to Naomi, his daughter makes it pretty clear: “But I don’t receive any respect and that’s fine I guess. Works for you, apparently. I hope you all can do what I did and pay for everything for this entire family for 30 years. It’s really hard, but don’t worry, unlike Pop (Joe Biden) I won’t make you give me half your salary.” Not your typical commentary on a great dad I would say.
Of course, not. Joe Biden uses his children, arguably, he uses everybody. Who are Joe’s close friends? You tell me. I haven’t come across any. Political allies, other politicians, business connections, sure, but true friends, again, you tell me. And this is what bothers me. Joe, as a father has used his family, specifically his son, Hunter, to do the dirty work and make the Biden family rich. He has risked the liberty of his only living son in order to get richer and more powerful. He has basically whored Hunter out, encouraged Hunter to have corrupt intercourse with villains all over the world.
But, what really gets me after reading The Lap Top From Hell, is what happened at the last presidential debate. If you recall, Donald Trump accused Biden, based upon the lap-top left behind by a crack addled Hunter Biden at a computer repair shop in Wilmington, Delaware, that Joe was a typical corrupt politician. Joe Biden responded by accusing President Trump of trafficking in Russian disinformation, and asked Americans to weigh each candidate’s character in deciding how to vote. Trump brought up allegations involving Hunter, referring to the “laptop from hell” cited in the New York Post story about the Hunter’s business dealings in Ukraine. “What he’s accusing me of is a Russian plant,” Biden said. “What he’s saying is a bunch of garbage. Nobody believes it except him and his good friend Rudy Giuliani.”
And this, my readers, was a blatant lie. Joe Biden knew full well that the laptop was Hunter’s and its contents were legitimate. Of duty Secret Service Agents were scouring the country looking for it. And Joe knew he was lying when he looked Americans in the eye and claimed the laptop was Russian work. Fortunately, for Joe, and unfortunately for the American Voters, Brennan and a bevy of other insiders from intelligence had published a false letter stating that the laptop had all the makings of a Russian operation. This gave Joe cover, at least until the election was over it did.
And all the while, Hunter was struggling with a major league crack cocaine addiction. In and out of treatment, (failed), Hunter was spending tens of thousands on hotel rooms, crack and prostitutes. He was a mess, in part because I believe he knew the truth of the matter; that his worth was in his exploits, not in his personhood. I believe he knew that his father’s love was fake, not un-conditional, but rather conditioned on him prostituting himself for the old man. And I don’t blame him entirely, given the truth that he had been knowingly (by Hunter and Joe both) exploited for the sole benefit of his father. Imagine enabling and encouraging your only living son to engage in corrupt activities, to receive pay-offs in jobs and moneys in exchange for political influence? No decent father does that, ever. His father has indeed used him and may be still using him, failing to show love beyond faux letters of love and support when business is good or a particular egregious train wreck occurs in Hunter’s life, one that might jeopardize Joe’s image.
I claim to be good at two things, writing and parenting, everything else I’m only so-so at, at which point, when my wife, Laura hears me say this, makes note that I left out husbandry. (She’s mostly correct) So, being good at parenting, I take bad parenting seriously. It’s one of most important measure of a man. As Meyer Lansky, a gangster, said, “the true measure of a man is seen through the eyes of the ones he loves.” It is also said that “the true measure of a man is contained within the relationships he builds with his children, whether small or grown, as they will carry the lessons learned and follow the clear example he teaches, far into adulthood, and his memory will live on, long after he is gone.”
Hunter Biden, a yearning immature front-man for his father’s quest for wealth and status, a drug addicted ne’er-do-well, is a reflection of Joe Biden. He is the mirror that reveals Joe Biden’s true character. Hunter didn’t have much of a choice in the matter and for that I have sympathy for him. But Old Joe, for him I have no sympathy. He is a man who does not love people, but instead uses people for his selfish purposes, even using his only living son. There is a saying that bad judgment in one is bad judgment in all. What it basically means is that if a guy has a car with the footwells filled with two months of fast-food refuse, it’s probably not the only place in the guy’s life that is in disarray. So, in Joe’s case, his malignant exploitation of his son, is not an outlier, it is him to the core.
And Old Joe may not be finished. With Joe being the President, criminal investigations of the Biden empire have stalled, maybe even cancelled. The last line in the book is “Just like the old days, only better.” It’s probably true, for now. But if we get our country back, and if our justice system returns to equal protection (and prosecution) under the law, if all that happens, don’t be surprised if investigations and prosecutions rev up again. And if they do, do not be surprised if Joe plays the role he’s always played, a pimp of a father, and throws Hunter under the bus. For this, I’ll pray for Hunter because he is not the culprit. He is the evidence of a bigger more nefarious culprit, President Joe Biden, as bad as they get when it comes to being a man and a father, even worse than Corn Pop.
That’s my Reetzality for the day. Thanks for the read.

Brett,
As true as all of this is, I feel you put most of the blame on Sleepy (the root) himself. I feel it should be 50/50. I have no empathy for druggies (Hunter). A drug problem (to me) is not an excuse for doing right or wrong.
